Keith L.T. Wright is the founder of Wright Strategies, LLC, a consulting practice providing strategic guidance to organizations navigating New York City and New York State government, including public-sector processes, agency engagement, and regulatory environments.
Through Wright Strategies, Mr. Wright also collaborates with professional services organizations, including Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP, advising on matters involving government processes, public-sector engagement, and complex regulatory considerations. This work reflects Wright Strategies’ broader role supporting organizations operating at the intersection of government, policy, and public impact.
As a former Assemblyman representing Harlem for 24 years in the New York State Legislature, Mr. Wright draws on his extensive experience to advise clients on matters before New York City agencies or New York State government. During his tenure, he held key leadership positions, including Chair of the Committees on Housing, Election Law, Social Services, and Labor. He was also a leading voice on the Equal Economic Opportunity and Human Rights subcommittee, advocating for domestic workers and enhancing benefits for senior citizens. His leadership on the Public Housing subcommittee underscored his commitment to protecting the rights of public housing residents.
Mr. Wright’s legislative career also included chairing the Black, Puerto Rican, and Hispanic Legislative Caucus and participating in the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force. His active engagement in Harlem (New York City) has driven small business development, expanded affordable housing, and promoted youth opportunities. As chairman of the Harlem Community Development Corporation, he played a significant role in fostering community growth.
Before joining the Assembly, Mr. Wright held positions in New York City government, including the Human Resources Administration, the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, and the New York City Transit Authority.
As a legislative leader, he played a key role in passing the Help America Vote Act, raising the minimum wage, expanding public assistance grants, and creating jobs through the Career Pathways Program and the MTA Small Business Mentoring Program in New York.
During his time chairing the Assembly Housing Committee, Mr. Wright oversaw a package of legislation preserving Mitchell-Lama housing, expanded protections for tenants, and secured a billion-dollar increase in bonding authority for affordable housing development in New York City.
A lifelong Harlem resident, Mr. Wright has been at the forefront of community development, supporting the construction of affordable housing and promoting small businesses through his leadership in the Harlem Community Development Corporation in New York City.
